Resident Grant Program

Program Description

Ventura Regional FSC offers opportunities to assist Ventura County residents with expenses and work related to wildfire safety improvements to their homes. The first step in this process is for the resident to fill out the Resident Assistance Program Form and schedule a no-cost Home Wildfire Assessment to assess their home’s wildfire risk, which will inform VRFSC on the need for this program and how to determine prioritizing projects.

Taking advantage of these services will not guarantee your home survives a wildfire, but hopefully encourage residents to take a proactive stance on preparing and preventing wildfire disasters.

Attention: Now accepting applications for residents with significant barriers to making wildfire-safe retrofits on their own.

Some of these groups may include:

  • Residents impacted by the Thomas Fire (2017)
  • Senior residents
  • Residents living on limited income
  • Residents with disabilities

Your first step is to schedule a Home Hardening Assessment to assess your home’s wildfire risk.

This opportunity is possible thanks to the Ventura County Community Foundation.
