Monthly Firewise USA® Assistance Workshop
VRFSC’s monthly Firewise USA® Workshop is hosted on the third Friday of every month via Zoom. The workshop is open to the public (online only) and begins at 1:00pm. It lasts 1 hour. Visit VenturaFireSafe.org for more information. This workshop is meant for helping prospective neighborhoods through the Firewise USA® application process and also for recognized neighborhoods to answer common questions and help sustain the program.

Join us on Thursday, November 6, 2025, exactly one year since the start of the Mountain Fire, for our End of Year Event. The event will celebrate our Fire Safe Council’s work in 2025, honor the incredible bravery and tireless efforts of our first responders, and highlight the ongoing recovery and hard work of survivors. At the event, VRFSC will launch our Contractors Directory, a much-needed resource for residents interested in implementing home hardening and defensible space. The evening will inspire us all to rebuild and retrofit to a safer, more wildfire-resilient Ventura County.

Lower your wildfire risk by reducing overgrown vegetation on your property! The Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council is hosting a Curbside Chipper Event for any residents within the city of Fillmore on June 28th! Each resident that REGISTERS will do their own yard work and set all their ready-to-chip vegetation into a neatly formed stack at the end of their driveway by June 27th. On the days of the event, a crew will drive by with a chipper and chip their vegetation and either haul the chips away or keep them on site, to be determined at registration.
