The VRFSC is committed to providing fire safety education and awareness programs targeting local residents and landowners. We participate in a number of community outreach events designed to provide residents throughout the County of Ventura with important information about fire safety.
We also partner with local fire departments to offer fire safety education programs to the community. Please see our calendar for wildfire related community events.

The Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council (VRFSC) is excited to be able to provide our community with a variety of fire prevention resources, including our Wildfire Prevention Webinar Series, made possible through the generous grant funding by the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA).

Wildfire Insurance Webinar
CA Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara, Ventura County Supervisor Kelly Long, and Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council Executive Director, Elaine Himelfarb, hosted a virtual Town Hall with experts from the Department of Insurance addressing fire preparedness and resources for homeowners on April 22nd, 2021

Fire Wise/Water Wise Landscaping Presentation
Learn how you can make your garden beeautiful, sustainable, and wildfire safe! The Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council partnered with the Ventura County Resource Conservation District and the Surfrider Foundation Ventura County Chapter’s Ocean Friendly Garden program to educate our community on how you can alter the landscape around your home to be more fire wise and water wise utilizing home hardening practices and the Ocean Friendly Garden techniques. Learn how to protect your home from wildfire and help reduce the likelihood of embers catching structures through proper plant placement and hard scaping.
Wildfire Prevention and Education Speaker Series
This series focuses on wildfire prevention, recovery, & education. This is an opportunity for community members to engage with wildfire experts & professionals. This series is hosted by the Ventura County Resource Conservation District in partnership with the Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council.
