Ojai Valley Fire Safe Council’s ?Goatober?
octubre 12 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
GratuitoIt takes a village! We deeply appreciate your support and participation in realizing Graze Ojai’s vision of landscape-level prescribed grazing as one of the ways to heal our land. We take this time to acknowledge you, and the community members and partners that work tirelessly throughout the year to restore our landscape’s resilience through prescribed grazing. Join us with the Ojai Valley Fire Council for our annual presentation for grazing advocacy: Besant Hill School students will be sharing their hands-on experience with the herd. Local graziers will bring passionate stories and their expertise on the subject with us, and Christopher Danch, our executive director, will present exciting updates on increasing acreage of treatment, expanding the buffer zone between the valley and the national forest.
This is an outdoor event for the whole family! Come for the presentations by local grazing and fire professionals, and stay for the live acoustic guitar by Martin Young and Alan Thornhill. Have a bite – on the menu will be sustainably raised lamb sausage and Ojai-grown veggie sandwiches prepared by a local chef for purchase (until we run out!). We hope you will enjoy being outside with the herd and the mountain views as much as we do – feel free to bring a few picnic blankets and backjacks to spread out on Besant Hill School’s soccer field. Don’t worry, we have tables and chairs too!
Please Confirme su asistencia aquí for directions, and so we can prepare enough food!
We thank everyone who has contributed donations to our community-supported grazing program, to Besant Hill School and our grazing partners, Brittany Cole Bush of Shepherdess Land & Livestock, Michael Leicht of Ventura Brush Goats, and Connor Jones of Ducks in a Row. If you are interested in supporting the program in some way, you can make a donation on grazeojai.com. The more we raise, the more we graze!
